Mira grew up in Prince George’s County in Maryland before attending Towson University, where she earned her B.S. in Biology with a minor in Spanish. She then continued her studies at Towson University and earned her master's degree in biology. During her master’s, she completed a thesis project that investigated the role of serotonin in anxiety-like behavior in planaria (aquatic flatworms). Currently, she is a PhD student in the Neuroscience program, and she is excited to study the relationship between stress/anxiety and alcohol in astrocytes! In her free time, she loves to bake, play PC and switch games, travel, and spoil her cat, Tanya!
